Good Morning, A Weekend

Breakfast at One Girl Cookies. Serenity in the midst of chaos :)

I went with fellow Hacker Schooler Derrick L. to a Rainbow Milonga, but we only stayed for the class. On the way to the venue, we walked along Pearl Street - which, according to Uncle Luigi, was indeed paved with shells before they replaced it with cobblestone.

Felt more like Cali to me at this point. Must visit the shore! Ferry ride.... yes.

The venue. Not many people. Most wanted to follow. I led briefly at the end. Four or five of us total, mostly middle aged guys. Not quite what I expected, but I was complimented on my shoes. ;) Prononciation of tango terminology was.... painful. It turned out to be an absolute beginner class, but review of the basics was not lost on me. The instructor, Jack, talked about the follow's right arm as a connection to the back, and the lead's right hand as a direct connection to the follow's legs. Interesting (new-ish? forgotten?) conscious ideas to me.

As Derrick and I were leaving, Jack asked me to dance. Smooth lead, enjoyable. No tandas, he said, but a cortina played. I recognized it as "Falling Slowly" from Once, and we tried it. Such a gentle dance. (One day I will finish watching that movie... Blame the cookies and cuddles!)
Target... two stories, with an escalator for your cart.

Took the wrong train coming home... but I rather liked the deserted station.

Oh and today was Puerto Rican Day. There was some huge parade and festival in my neighborhood.... but I missed it. I live in a predominantly latino neighborhood where Spanish is the primary language and everyone and his mother is out and about doing things & making noise, and somehow I miss the giant freaking parade. Wtf.

Blah blah blah.... other details.... Kristi & her Serbian friend Branka, concert :D.... etc.... exhausted....Gnite.
